What do I do?

I do content marketing.

Content marketing is the marketing technique of creating and distributing relevant and valuable content to attract, acquire, and engage a clearly defined and understood target audience – with the objective of driving profitable customer action.

Basically, content marketing is the art of communicating with your customers and prospects without selling. It is non-interruption marketing. Instead of pitching your products or services, you are delivering information that makes your buyer more intelligent. The essence of this content strategy is the belief that if we, as businesses, deliver consistent, ongoing valuable information to buyers, they ultimately reward us with their business and loyalty.

Content marketing also about being social and providing excellent service. Word of mouth marketing is swiftly becoming the number one way that people hear about products and services. So all content marketing and social strategy initiatives must be as much about education and answering questions as it is seeking customer action.

Basically, content is fire and social media is gasoline.

Why Choose Content Marketing?

Because content marketing is the future. Search engines are starting to find real engaging content more valuable than just keywords and key phrases. Banner ads and other forms of digital advertisement are also seeing a decline. The best way to reach out to your customers is by creating great content marketing plans that provide a high level of engagement between you and your customers.

In fact it’s best if you stop seeing them as customers. Start thinking of them as your audience of peers. What would you want to know about the product/service before you purchased it. What do you look for when you are searching for new home, or a great pair of shoes? Once you identify what they are looking for your content will quickly become more focused, which leads to better content overall.

Where Do You Use the Content?

If you start pushing your content out via social media networks you will start seeing a greater following and more interaction. Social media is as much a part of content marketing as video or design. Social media is where word of mouth marketing actually takes place. Being active on the three most popular social media sites – Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In – will increase your audience engagement more than you know. Just be sure to do your research and use social media and its tools correctly and effectively.

I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have, or point you in the direction of one of my peers. I love making new social connections so be sure to check out my pages on some of the most popular social sites on the web.
